On the other see of the field, I spotted a Mississippi Kite in a tree with a few bare limbs at the top.I took photos for about 30 minutes as he moved from perch to perch between diving over the field catching dragonflies and other insects. He was still there when I left and seemed to pay me no mind.
A little later I found an Osprey posed on a tall bare branch with his wings in the drying position. A great photo op, except that I was facing almost directly into the sun with no way to change that reality. So I took a few shots anyway and hoped for the best. During the morning I also saw an adolescent male Blue Grosbeak and a Grasshopper Sparrow. There were many wild flowers blooming after the several days rain we have had. It was a fun day with some nice photos. See below.
