We finally have gotten a cool blastoff air in eastern North Carolina, which has pushed a few migrant warblers into the area. Quite a few species have been seen at River Park North including Northern Parulas, American Redstart, Prairie, Palm, Magnolia, Pine, Chestnut-sided, Yellow, and Black-throated Blue. While I have seen most of these, getting pictures of them has proved to be more difficult than usual. The warm weather has the trees looking like mid-summer with all leaves intact. The warblers constant flitting about in the leaves has made photography a nightmare! I am grateful we now at least have fall weather and will keep trying for better pics. Below are a variety of late summer/fall migrant species that i have been able to capture. SEE GALLERY BELOW. CLICK ON ANY PIC TO ENLARGE.USE SIDE ARROWS TO MOVE BACK AND FORTH.
